Graduated from Shepard HS in 1999 where I caught for 4 years. Played catcher for North Central College from 1999-2001 before injuring my shoulder.
Ok so I’m not your prototypical catcher, but for all of those who watch, I pride myself on the little things. Catcher is the best position on the field, and I pride myself on being the best that I can be. For me, hitting a homerun is great, but even better is the feeling I get when I throw a runner out when trying to steal, or shoving the ball in a guys face after he tries to run me over at the plate. I’m a hard nose gamer that gives my all and expects the best from my teammates.
I’m thankful for the many reasons that I am able to be associated with this team. I’d like to thank my parents for always encouraging me to have fun and not pushing the game on me. It helped me develop the pure love of the game that I have now. My lil bro, who I have helped learn the position along the way, but in turn has taught me much about the game and the position. Best of luck at Aurora! Mike Kay for bringing me to the team. And especially the rest of the team. I’m so grateful to be associated with such a wonderful group of guys. It’s not just fun on the field but off the field as well. You’ve really taken me in as a part of the team, and it means a lot. I’ll be sure to give you my all every game. This is the most fun I’ve had playing baseball in a long time, and from the looks of it the fun is just beginning.
GO NUTS and Nova you’re my hero!

Dave Novak came to one game during our 2000 season. I did not see him for over 2 years after that and I honestly never thought I would see the guy again in my life
However, I am very thankful that I did see him again and that he decided to come back out for the team.
Since his return, Big Dave as been an importnat piece to our team. He is a leader behind the dish and in the dugout.
The majority of baseball players, ESPECIALLY in our leagues, detest laying down a sac bunt for the team. Not Big Dave. He LOVES it. In fact, Big Dave is credited in concocting Team Rule #2
I enjoy having Dave around and this past season, 2005, Dave has helped me by stepping up in a managers role with Bauer and running the team when I am unable to get to the games.
I appreciate everything that Dave has done and I look forward to playing many more years with him.
Oh, and of course all of the "off season training" we do as well.

Novak is tall.
Novak talked to me at the bar while we watched the Sox game.
It was fun. He's cool.
